Welcome to the Kinone Agile Learning Center, the first ever Agile Learning Center in Japan. Our center is built on the principles of Agile Learning, a revolutionary approach to education that emphasizes the liberation of children and their learning experience. What is an Agile Learning Center?
Agile Learning Centers are a global network of independent, self-directed learning communities that are designed to empower children and foster a love of learning. Our center is a member of this network, and we incorporate the core values and principles of Agile Learning into our everyday practice.
At the Kinone Agile Learning Center, we welcome children from ages 3 to 18. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages self-directed learning, exploration, and experimentation. Our educators serve as guides, mentors, and facilitators, helping children discover their passions and develop their own unique learning paths.
We believe that learning is a natural process that happens all the time, and that children are born with an innate curiosity and desire to explore their world. By fostering an environment that promotes self-direction, we allow children to follow their own interests.
Tree
At the Kinone Agile Learning Center, we use the metaphor of a tree to illustrate the different elements of the Agile Learning educational model. The roots of our tree are the four assumptions that ground us: learning is natural, people learn best by making their own decisions, experience is the primary teacher, and accomplishment is achieved through cycles of intention, creation, reflection, and sharing. These assumptions guide our approach to learning and provide the foundation for our students’ growth.
